A constant interest in my studio practice, which crosses between writing and making, is the impossibility of defining colour in language. The little word ʻredʼ cannot hold all of the colourʼs associations. In response to this problem I have made videos which play with paint in relation to ideas of “pure” colour and total saturation; text pieces which highlight the multiple meanings associated with a single colour; and stories which seek to create fluidly changing visual experiences in the imaginations of listeners. From these narratives I extract sculptures, blurring the line between my fictional worlds and my studio.
